NBA

With the NBA regular season drawing a close, I feel as if I should give my input on the season, a little input on who impressed me and who disappointed me. Also a few individual awards I would give.

Most Impressive Team of the Year
The Chicago Bulls
I pick the Bulls with a slight edge over the league leading Spurs. Why? Because the Bulls went all the way from the 8th spot in the East, to having the second best record in the league. Not only is Derrick Rose the MVP of the league, but everyone is stepping up. Coach Tom Thibodeau has this team playing great defense, especially perimeter and on ball defense from Rose, Deng, Bogans and Korver. The addition of Boozer has really given them a true 20 point post scorer and Noah is putting up double digit rebounds every game. The Bulls are young, but look like season veterans on the court. Therefore, they get my most impressive team of the year award.

Most Disappointing Team of the Year
The Utah Jazz
I'm sure most people could take the easy path and just put the Miami Heat here, because they didn't win 70 games and blow out every good team. However, you have to look at the Utah Jazz. They were over 10 games over .500 last year, and this year they are finishing with 3 games under .500. Sure they traded Williams for young talent and Sloan quit, however it seems like a total collapse of an organization. Before Sloan resigning, they were in the 5th spot in the East. Al Jefferson and Milsap were both playing incredible basketball. The fact that the young talent couldn't help keep them above .500 is frankly pathetic. They need to build their team up from the bottom and get a new solid head coach. Overall they disappointed me the most out of every team.

Biggest Surprise Team of the Year
The Philadelphia 76rs
If I told you that draft pick Evan Turner was putting up almost no productivity and the 76rs were a game over .500 and clinched a playoff spot would you believe it? Well believe it, the 76rs are steadily improving, with the 3th best record since the all star break. Brand is playing like he was expected to three years ago, and Iguodala is the closest player to Lebron's all around productivity. Sure, the Sixers probably wont get by Boston in the first round but still this is an incredible season. I would expect this team to continue improving through the next few years.

Biggest all around Bust
New York Knicks
-Another disappointment in my mind is the Knicks. Although they drastically improved, it boggles my mind how getting Melo could make them worse. It makes you wonder, was getting rid of potential all stars Gallinari and Chandler really worth Melo? Should have waited till the end of the season. Get read for an early departure from the playoffs Knicks, even the overrated Heat can handle your team. Even the Cavs can score 120 on the Knicks weak defense.
